Environmental Initiatives — Saptashrungi Bahuuddeshiya Mahila Sanstha, Dhule

We believe in protecting nature and building a sustainable future. In collaboration with government departments and reputed institutions, we promote waste management, biodiversity conservation, plantation drives, and eco-friendly livelihoods across Dhule district.

  • Discouraged burning of waste, dry leaves, and crop residues.
  • Systematic collection and composting; promoted vermicomposting (earthworm processing).
  • Produced organic fertilizer for farmers, improving soil fertility and reducing input costs.

Impact: ✅ 20 villages covered • Increased organic manure availability • Cleaner villages & improved sanitation.

🌿 Biodiversity Conservation Program (BAIF) (2012–2013)

Partners: BAIF Development Research Foundation, Pune & SBM Sanstha, Dhule. Location: Deur, Mhasdi, Ner, Kusumba (Dhule Taluka).

  • Trained SHG women in bamboo plantation techniques.
  • Skill development for bamboo-based products (baskets, handicrafts, household items).
  • Promoted environment-friendly livelihoods for rural women.

Impact: ✅ 4 villages • Women gained income-generation skills • Increased awareness of bamboo’s environmental role.

🌳 Tree Plantation & Eco-Awareness Drives

Regular plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, and eco-awareness sessions in villages, schools, and communities to promote sustainable living.

  • Thousands of saplings planted across Dhule district.
  • School sessions on Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (3R) and promotion of plastic-free villages.
  • Community clean-ups and youth engagement activities.

Impact: ✅ Increased green cover • Youth motivated to care for environment • Villages adopting eco-friendly practices.
