Inspiring Journey of Our Founder
Saptashrungi Bahuddeshiya Mahila Sanstha is an organization founded by women, for women’s holistic development. The founder, Mrs. Meena Bhosale, initially started with the “Saptashrungi Mahila Bachat Gat” (Women’s Self-Help Group) by bringing together women from the local community. However, the scope of solving women’s problems through a savings group was limited.
Therefore, on 21st February 2006, along with nine women from diverse communities, the Saptashrungi Bahuddeshiya Mahila Sanstha was established with the motto: “We provide support to the underprivileged in society.”
Initially focused only on women-related issues, the organization later expanded its work in areas such as healthcare, child welfare, agriculture, farmers’ welfare, tribal development, youth empowerment, environment, and legal awareness.
Today, after more than 20 years of dedicated service, the organization operates across seven states – Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh – with support from Government schemes, Foreign Funding, and CSR initiatives.
In recognition of its impactful work, the organization has been honored with over 250 awards, including the Ahilyabai Holkar Award (Women & Child Welfare Dept.), District Youth Award (Sports Dept.), Nehru Yuva Kendra Award, and Rukmini Award from Open University.
Till date, the organization has successfully rehabilitated more than 2,00,000 individuals.
our events are powerful platforms for transformation — from empowering women and educating children to supporting tribal communities and driving development in both rural and urban areas. Each gathering, workshop, and campaign is a step toward building a more inclusive and sustainable society.
