Capacity Building — Integrated Watershed Management Program (IWMP)

Location: Shindkheda Taluka, Dhule District
Role of SBM Sanstha: Selected as Project Training Organization (PTO) for training and awareness activities.

Program implemented in 5 villages of Shindkheda taluka with focus on watershed development and rural sustainability.

  • Awareness sessions on the importance of watershed development.
  • Formation & strengthening of Watershed Committees.
  • Exposure visits for farmers and women SHGs to observe practical watershed work.
  • Trainings for SHG women, user groups, and para-workers on livelihood opportunities.
  • Guidance on farm-based allied industries for income generation.

Impact: ✅ 5 villages covered • Active Watershed Committees • SHG women trained • Improved community awareness on water conservation.

Rural Infrastructure Development Fund Program (RIDF)

Partners: Office of District Agriculture Officer, Dhule & SBM Sanstha • Coverage: 5 villages

Key activities and trainings conducted under RIDF with emphasis on watershed and rural infrastructure:

  • Awareness street plays (Jagruti Pathnatya) on water conservation.
  • Introductory SHG training & consumer group programs.
  • Explained role of Watershed Development Teams (WDT) & Project Implementing Agencies (PIA).
  • Post-watershed maintenance guidance and internal & external exposure visits (Mehergaon, Rahuri Agricultural University).

Impact: ✅ Empowered farmers, SHGs & consumer groups • Strengthened linkages with government schemes • Villages motivated for better farming practices.

Work Done for Farmers

  • Farmhouse Construction Scheme: Assistance for building farmhouses on agricultural land for storage and management of produce.
  • PM-Kisan Yojana: Ensured eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 per year under the central scheme.
  • Developing Agricultural Markets: Linking farmers to markets, improving access to buyers, price information, and allied trade opportunities.

These initiatives aim to improve farmers’ incomes and living standards by strengthening market access and farm infrastructure.

Work for Senior Citizens

We extend support to men and women aged 60+ by facilitating access to government schemes and healthcare:

  • Health camps & eye check-ups.
  • Awareness on government schemes and assistance to apply.
  • Help to avail benefits like Senior Citizen ID Card, Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Anudan Yojana, ST bus fare concession, Shravanbal Seva state pension, and Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension.

Result: Improved access to healthcare, social security, and financial assistance for senior citizens in rural areas.

Grain Bank & Clothes Bank Initiative

Since 2006, SBM Sanstha has run Grain Bank & Clothes Bank programs to support poor families. Grains collected from donors are distributed free to underprivileged families, and donated clothes are cleaned, mended, and distributed with dignity.

Impact: A total of 725 beneficiary families have received food grains and clothing support through these initiatives.
